Dual Credit for New Brunswick High School Students

High school students in New Brunswick can take courses at their high school that will be recognized as prior learning at ½ûÂþÌìÌà through the credit transfer application process. On this page, we’ve provided information about which high school courses are eligible for credit at ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ, as well as some FAQs to help you understand more about the RPL process.

IMPORTANT: Only the specific high school courses listed on this page are eligible for RPL. Other high school courses cannot be submitted for credit because the prior learning must be achieved at a recognized post-secondary or other adult education institution to be considered equivalent to ½ûÂþÌìÌà courses. If you have completed Advanced Placement (AP) and/or International Baccalaureate (IB) courses while in high school, please contact rpl@nbcc.ca to learn whether these courses may be eligible for RPL consideration.

Which High School Courses are Eligible for Credit Transfer?

At this time, only the high school course(s) listed below are eligible for credit transfer at ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ:

NB Anglophone High School course: Skilled Trades and Work-Ready Math (Math 120)

Equivalent ½ûÂþÌìÌà course:  MATH1305 (Trades Math I)

How do I apply?

If you have been accepted to a program at ½ûÂþÌìÌà and you have paid the confirmation fees, you are eligible to submit a credit transfer application. Review the RPL Application Guide  for information about how to submit your application.

What documentation do I need to provide with my online application?

You do not need to include any documents at the time of your application. If required, the RPL team will request that you submit a copy of your official high school transcript.

Is there a minimum grade requirement?

Yes. You must have achieved at least 60% or C- in your high school course to be eligible for credit transfer at ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ. 

How will the credit transfer appear on my transcript?

If your application is successful, the credit will appear as CR on your transcript.
