½ûÂþÌìÌÃ

RPL Credit Equivalency (EQ) Portfolio

In addition to formal learning completed at a recognized post-secondary institution, ½ûÂþÌìÌà also awards credit based on non-formal or informal learning. This includes learning gained through:

  • Work experience
  • Professional development, workshops, or certificates
  • Military training
  • Volunteer work
  • Independent or self-directed learning
  • Other life experiences

If your non-formal or informal learning matches at least 80% of the ½ûÂþÌìÌà course competencies and demonstrates an equivalent level and focus, you may be eligible for equivalency (EQ) credit.

Important: The RPL EQ application process is now supported through a guided online Brightspace RPL EQ Portfolio course. If you apply for RPL based on non-formal or informal learning on or after July 15, 2026, you must complete one Brightspace RPL EQ portfolio course for each ½ûÂþÌìÌà course you are requesting credit for.

What is an RPL EQ Portfolio?

An RPL EQ Portfolio is a collection of evidence and artifacts that demonstrates how your prior learning matches specific ½ûÂþÌìÌà courses within your program’s curriculum.

The RPL EQ Portfolio should demonstrate:
